Arcus app: the iOS pre-order, Android, and the web app

There is no finished Arcus app to download yet. The iOS App Store listing is a pre-order published by Pocket Protector Labs Inc. with an expected release of 12 January 2027, and it is described as market data and watchlists rather than trading. Android is in progress with no timeline. The web app is the real product today.

That is a less exciting answer than most search results give, and it is the accurate one. Pages promising an Arcus app download link are either pointing at the pre-order page, which installs nothing, or at something that is not Arcus.

What the iOS listing actually is

The listing is titled Arcus Mobile, carries App ID 6771858426, and is published by Pocket Protector Labs Inc. Pre-orders opened on 20 August 2026 across 160 countries. The expected release date shown is 12 January 2027.

A pre-order on the App Store reserves a future download. Apple delivers the app to your device when the developer releases it, and the date on the listing is the developer’s expectation, not a commitment. Dates on pre-orders move. If 12 January 2027 slips, Apple will simply show a new one.

The publisher name throws people, so it is worth explaining. Pocket Protector was co-founded in 2024 by Eddie Zhang, who is now Arcus’ CEO and founder. dYdX Labs acquired Pocket Protector in July 2025, after which Zhang became president of dYdX. The legal entity that filed the App Store listing is the one that already existed.

It is a corporate artefact, not a sign that a different company is shipping an Arcus clone. For the fuller picture of who built what, see what Arcus is.

Market data and watchlists, not trading

The listing describes the app in terms of market data and watchlists. It does not describe order entry, deposits or withdrawals.

Arcus has not published a mobile feature roadmap, so there is no documented answer to the obvious follow-up: will version one let you place a trade? Until Arcus says so, the safe reading is that the first release is something you watch markets on while you trade elsewhere. Anyone describing the pre-order as a mobile trading app is adding a feature the listing does not claim.

Android: in progress, and unverified

Arcus says the Android build is in progress. It gives no release window, no beta channel and no sign-up.

The Arcus homepage links an Android package name, xyz.arcus.app. The contents of any Google Play listing behind that package, including the publisher, the install count and whether it is live, pre-registration or unpublished, could not be verified. That is a genuine blank rather than a tactful omission, and it matters because an unverified package name is exactly the kind of string that copycat apps borrow. If you go looking, check the publisher before you install anything.

The TestFlight reports

In July 2026 The Block reported that mobile access was invite-only through TestFlight, Apple’s beta distribution channel. Arcus does not publish a way to request an invite, and the article did not describe one.

So there are three mobile states floating around in coverage, from three different moments: an invite-only TestFlight beta reported in July, a public pre-order opened on 20 August, and a general release expected in January 2027. They are stages of one thing, not three separate apps, and conflating them is how “the Arcus app is out” ends up in search results.

The web app is the product

Everything Arcus describes as live runs in the browser. Spot Stock Tokens trade through a request-for-quote system, perps trade on a central limit order book, and onboarding uses Privy embedded self-custodial wallets with email or social login and no seed phrase step. Mobile browsers reach the same interface a desktop browser does.

Two practical notes for anyone planning to use a phone browser. You pay gas in ETH on Robinhood Chain, so an empty ETH balance stops you regardless of device, which is covered on how to deposit on Arcus. And perps need an invite code minted at one per $1 million of qualifying volume, non-transferable, so a phone does not get you past that gate either. The Arcus invite code page has the mechanics, and the step-by-step is on how to use Arcus.

Fake apps are the real risk here

A product with a published package name, a pre-order listing and no shipped app is a soft target for impersonators. The same pattern shows up around the token question, where sites claim a confirmed Arcus token despite the help centre saying “No, Arcus does not currently have a token”; that is covered on the Arcus token page.

Three habits help. Check the publisher on any listing before installing. Reach Arcus through arcus.xyz rather than through an app store search. And treat any app asking for a seed phrase as hostile, since Arcus’ own onboarding has no seed phrase step at all.

Eligibility does not change on mobile

Arcus is not available in the United States, the United Kingdom or Canada, plus other restricted jurisdictions named in the Terms, which also exclude sanctioned persons and comprehensively sanctioned regions and require you to be 18 or over. Pre-orders opened in 160 App Store countries, and an App Store country is not a protocol eligibility check. The restriction list is on Arcus countries.

Risk, stated plainly

Trading tokenized equities and perpetual futures is high-risk. Leveraged positions can be liquidated, Stock Tokens are not shares and carry no voting rights or dividend claim as such, and most leveraged traders lose money. Nothing on this page is financial advice, and none of it comes from first-hand use of the app, which does not exist yet to use. It is read from Arcus’ published listings and documentation as of 2 October 2026.

Questions people ask

Can I download the Arcus app right now?

Not as a finished trading app. The iOS App Store listing is a pre-order with an expected release of 12 January 2027, so reserving it does not install anything today. The web app at arcus.xyz is what eligible users trade on.

Who publishes the Arcus iOS app?

The listing is published by Pocket Protector Labs Inc. under App ID 6771858426. Pocket Protector was co-founded by Arcus CEO Eddie Zhang and acquired by dYdX Labs in July 2025, which explains the publisher name on the listing.

Will the Arcus app let me trade?

The App Store listing describes market data and watchlists rather than trading. Arcus has not published a feature list confirming order entry in the first release, so assume read-only until Arcus says otherwise.

Is there an Arcus Android app?

Arcus says the Android build is in progress and gives no timeline. The homepage links a package name, xyz.arcus.app, but the contents of any Google Play listing, including publisher and release state, could not be verified.

What about the TestFlight version?

The Block reported in July 2026 that mobile access was invite-only through Apple's TestFlight beta channel. Arcus does not publish a way to request a TestFlight slot, so there is no documented route in.

Does the mobile app change who can use Arcus?

No. Arcus is unavailable in the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada, plus other restricted jurisdictions in the Terms. Pre-ordering from an App Store account in a blocked country does not create access to the protocol.
